SIGMA Nexus project has conducted its first workshop with stakeholders in Crete. The workshop was held offline on September 26th with more than 30 participants. The main activities within the workshop were project partners' presentations and panel discussion.

The study area of SIGMA NEXUS in Greece is located on the island of Crete (Lake Kournas - Apokoronas).

Many regions on the island, including the case study area, face similar challenges in terms of increasing demand for water and competition from user groups that are trying to claim more water for their own use, poor management of water resources, and unsustainable agricultural production.

The Workshop presented the first results of the project on the interdependencies between water, ecosystems and agriculture in the study area in the Crete.
