Events Timeline

The SIGMA NEXUS case study areas are one in Crete (Lake Kourna- Apokoronas) and two in Egypt (Minia and Nubariya).

All regions face similar challenges in terms of increasing water demand and the competition of user groups trying to claim a larger share for their own use, inadequate water management by the relevant agencies and unsustainable agricultural production.

The workshop presented good practices on the interdependencies between water, ecosystems, energy and food security.
